Terms of service

The rules for using Nickbox during the public beta: accounts, acceptable use, subscription, refunds, liability and contact.

Updated · 3 min read

Draft for the public beta. Pending legal review.

These terms govern your use of Nickbox, operated by ALDAN INGENIERÍA SAPI de CV (TODO(owner): exact legal name and address), "we" below. By creating an account you accept them.

The service

Nickbox is a hosted MCP server. You connect up to five Gmail or Google Workspace inboxes, give each a nickname, and your AI assistant can list inboxes, search and read messages, and list labels through one URL. The tools are list_accounts, search_emails, search_all_accounts, read_email and list_labels.

Read-only

Nickbox asks Google for read-only Gmail access. It cannot send, draft, delete, label or change mail. How your assistant uses what it reads is governed by that assistant's own terms.

Beta

Nickbox is in a limited beta. Google lets an app that has not completed its verification connect only 100 Gmail accounts over its lifetime. Each account that is ever connected counts for good, even after it is disconnected, so we admit new accounts only while places remain and keep an optional interest list. Features may change, and the service may have bugs or interruptions.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
  • Sign-in is through your Google account. Keep it secure and tell us if you suspect misuse.
  • You may connect only inboxes you own or are authorized to access. If an inbox belongs to an organization, you are responsible for having its permission.

Acceptable use

Do not use Nickbox to break the law, violate others' rights, access inboxes without authorization, attack or overload the service, resell access, or try to bypass limits. We may suspend accounts that do.

Subscription, trial and cancellation

The plan costs US$5 per month or US$48 per year, covers up to five inboxes, and starts with a 7-day trial that requires a card. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the first charge happens then, and renewals follow each period. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and local taxes may apply.

You can cancel any time from Billing in the dashboard. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Purchases made by an AI agent

An AI agent you authorize can buy a prepaid Nickbox pass for you: 30 days for US$5 or 365 days for US$48, up to five inboxes. These passes do not renew on their own. You are responsible for the purchases your agent makes within the permissions you gave it. After paying, the agent receives a single-use link that expires in 30 days. Opening it and signing in with Google attaches the pass to your account. The agent never connects your inboxes: you grant Gmail access yourself, in Google's own consent screen. Depending on the method your agent used, the payment is processed by Stripe or settled in USDC through a payment facilitator. TODO(owner): legal review of agent purchases, pass refunds and stablecoin payments.

Refunds

The first charge is refundable if you ask within 7 days. Later charges are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

Availability

During the beta there is no service level agreement. We aim to keep Nickbox running, but we do not promise uninterrupted access, and we may change or end features with notice where we can.

Liability

Nickbox is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Ending the service

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the privacy policy.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email before they apply. Continued use afterward means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, and the courts of Mérida, Yucatán have jurisdiction (TODO(owner): confirm governing law and venue).
